A researcher in
Berlin has created a toy for those who feel limited by having just two eyes. The
Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera is a handheld foam-filled sphere that takes 360-degree panoramic photographs when it's tossed in the air. The ball camera -- which is the brainchild of
Jonas Pfeil at the
Technische Universität -- relies on 36 2-megapixel camera lenses and an accelerometer to snap three dozen images at once, then merges them into a single picture. SlashGear (10/13)
--> Wo moechtest Du diese Kamera hoch werfen?
We've had this technology for a while (NASA etc use it a lot) but I think this is probably the first time they've done a complete sphere. (Well, NASA probably has, but their stuff costs a few million dollars and can only function in orbit.)
ReplyDeleteYes christoff, but this is the first handheld readily available civillian model, a wonderful invention, now i just need to know how much one will cost...

ReplyDeleteEst ist kool.
ReplyDeleteInteressant! Vielleicht Google Erde verfügen über eine Option für diese in die Zukunft. Stellen Sie sich Panoramen aus der ganzen Welt!
ReplyDeleteDieses Thema ist sehr interessant
ReplyDeleteI really want one of those. That is so cool!
ReplyDeletethats really cool is it German made though?
ReplyDeleteThe German people are absolute geniuses. Why can't we think of something like that. Something simple yet amazing in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought panorama shots were amazing, but a spherical panorama is even cooler! I'd save up my money to buy an invention like this.
ReplyDeleteDas ist kühl. How do they come up with these cool inventions.
