Who's the big dude named Steven, who married fellow CIA agent, Samantha (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) in the new TV series?
Glad you asked. He's an African-German. Boris Frederic Cecil Tay-Natey Ofuatey-Kodjoe was born Vienna, Austria, and raised in Freiburg, Breisgau. His mother is a German psychologist; father is a physician from Ghana. Besides being fluent in English, German, and French, he also speaks a bit of Spanish.
According to IMDbPro, a back injury kept him from his dream of being a professional tennis player. He and Serena Williams seem to be friendly sparing partners, and in the following clip, he not only speaks a bit of German (can you hear him compliment the show: LOPEZ TONIGHT?), but he also challenges Serena to a public match.
In real life, his wife is his SOULFOOD co-host, Nicole Ari Parker; together they have two daughters.
