Tausende OSTEREIER in einem Ostdeutschen Baum
March 21, 2012 Volker Kraft decorates a tree with 10,000 Easter eggs in his garden in Saalfeld, Germany. The Kraft family has been decorating their tree for Easter for more than forty years. Kraft's apple sapling sported just 18 eggs when he first decorated it for Easter in 1965. The number increased year by year; and by last year, the sturdy tree was festooned with 9,800 eggs, artfully decorated with everything from sequins to sea shells. This time, Kraft has reached 10,000 - and he says he's stopping there. (AP Photo/Jens Meyer, File)

This must have taken a long time to make this. I wish I had as much free time as this to do something like this. Saalfeld is about 215 km west of Dresden.
ReplyDeletethey decorate trees for easter? I love decorating easter eggs.
ReplyDeleteDas sieht kühl aus. Auch ist interessant.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what's more amazing: the fact that he painted ten thousand Easter eggs just for fun, or the fact that he somehow fit every one of them on that tiny little tree.
ReplyDeleteTruly amazing a fantastic celebration of easter

It must be fun taking all of those off the tree once Easter is over... if they even do. But I liked this post. It was very interesting.
