Compound Words in German

Students always ask me about the long word posted over the closet in our classroom:

Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz

A previous post mentioned that this law was struck down, so that, since GESETZ = Law, this word doesn't really exist any more.  So let's have a look at a few others!

Recently there was mention of the women's world cup participants.  In German, these competitors are:
Frauenfussballweltmeisteschaftsteilnehmerinnen

Wetten dass is a favorite TV show in Germany, where guests no only speak about their current projects, they also have to decide whether they'll support someone's claim, and then, if they lose, they have to follow up on a certain challenge.   Here is host, Thomas Gottschalk, with a young 8th grader, whose claim is that he can hear a word and know just how many letters are needed to spell it.   Guest star, Musician, Reinhard Mey (in an earlier clip), fully believes that the young man is telling the truth, so Gottschalk puts the young student to the test.  Here's the clip.  Listen up, and see if you can guess the meaning of the various compound words which appear on the chalk board in the background.
