Study Bridge to Germany -- Studying in Germany

Hi everyone at Deutsch-heute!

We are very excited to share with you and all NKHS German students our new scholarship program, “Studienbrücke Deutschland” - Study Bridge Germany.

“Studienbrücke Deutschland” is designed to provide linguistic and subject-matter-specific preparation for studying in Germany to students, who have outstanding achievements in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects.

Current juniors may apply to participate in the “Studienbrücke Deutschland” program if they meet the following requirements:

•        Proof of having attained the A1 level in German
•        Highly motivated to study in Germany
•        Above-average academic achievements in STEM subjects

Upon their successful acceptance into the fully-funded program, NKHS students would start in the Graduating Class of 2021 comprised of 20 US students by

1.  Attending a summer camp in Germany this summer.
2.  During their senior year they would receive supplemental online instructions to elevate their German to pass the B2 level exam at the time of graduation.
3.  After graduating from NKHS, these participants will spend one year at a German high school to get to know Germany and its education system better before going on to German University, and to obtaining their Bachelor Degree (which is commonly achieved in 3 years in Germany).

For further information please visit: https://www.goethe.de/ins/us/en/sta/ney/kur/stu.html

With the application deadline fast approaching on April 30, 2016, we would like to invite students or parents to an information session.  If there is enough interest, we will join you in North Kingstown! To coordinate a visit or for further information, please contact Frau Baker, and I'll happily work with her to schedule something at NKHS.

Kind regards,
