Windräder

Some like the looks of these controversial giants. Some resent more than just the looks of them.

--> Have you taken a stand on these wind-power-generators? Is it a complicated one?

This photo was taken in NW Germany. We GAPP-travelers will see many such fields this summer.

--> 9. März: Mensch, Schweizer! Sehr interessant. I'll include this Danish footage, based on Schweizer's find:

Its "Safety Breaker" malfunctioned, and the thing completely self-destructed.

  2. I don't see what the big deal is with these windmills. They create a good amount of clean energy which will really help our deteriorating ozone layer. Some people don't like the looks of them and just for that reason are not willing to put them up. To me that seems stupid.

  3. I know I would rather look at these than create more pollution. They look better than factories and towers.

  6. Windmills really help our powering system. However, on really windy days, they can get really loud and cost a lot of money to update and repair it. Other than that, it really helps us, saving the planet wise. And, if you go the the website, this could happen too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAWMpxX60KM

  7. Wind turbines in North Kingstown are kind of terrible, while they do produce green energy it is not worth the bad they cause for the community. The manufacturers of the wind turbines recommend they be built at least 1500 feet away from anyone but the town of North Kingstown changed the ordinance to require only 280 feet, this can be dangerous to anyone living within the danger zone of these turbines. They also produce a large amount of noise which is not fair to the people who live near them and the property values of people who live near turbines are about 20-43% lower than those who do not.

  8. I think it's great how they have many windmills. They are trying to help stop pollution and i think more countries should step up and do that. When i was in Germany everywhere i went i could spot 10 windmills in all directions.

  9. They do produce alot of power, but no as much as people might think. It does cut down on polution and how much enviromental space we need to clear to build them.
