SO MANY WISH THAT THEY HAD STUDIED GERMAN IN HIGH SCHOOL.
"I met a student from the USA at the University of Tübingen, who was there to get her doctorate in physics. She needed some special piece of equipment to complete her research and there were only two of them in the world: one was in the U.S. and the other in Germany. Since the one in the U.S. was in use, she had to go to Germany. She said she wished that she had taken German in high school, so that she didn't have to start from scratch."

Pretty much any field these days that involves precision machinery will inevitably result in a visit to Germany. Everything from telescope lenses to racecar engines originates from a handful of factories, each within a couple hundred miles of each other.
ReplyDeleteAww thats cool. Congrats to her. yea everyone should take german in highschool, they dont know where there going to end up in a few years..
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that German is offered at our high school, and that I decided to take it!! It's nice to know that we'll be able to use it in so many ways.
